On January 16, 2012 we will once again celebrate the life, ministry and work of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This will be the forty-second breakfast hosted by St. Cyprian’s parish and Union United Methodist congregation. The event will be held at the Boston Convention Center, 414 Summer St. in Boston. The Breakfast begins at 8:00 am. This year’s keynote speaker will be Professor Walter E. Fluker, Martin Luther King, Jr. Professor of Ethical Leadership in the School of Theology, Boston University. Here is a link to more information. We hope to see you there!

St. Cyprian’s will be celebrating its annual New Year’s Eve Night Watch Eucharist at 11:30 PM, December 31, 2011. The first Eucharist of 2012 –the Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus–will be celebrated January 1, 2012 at 10:30 AM. Please join us as we close out the old year and usher in the new.

We cordially invite you to join us for one of our Christmas services. On Christmas Eve we will hold our Midnight Mass starting at 11:30 pm. On Christmas morning we will be celebrating the Feast of Jesus’ birth at 10:30 am. The members of St.Cyprian’s wish all of our website visitors a most blessed and merry Christmas!

The annual Ceremony of Nine Lessons and Carols will be celebrated on December 18, 2011 at 5:00 pm. This is a tradition at St. Cyprian’s that reflects another side of the rich musical and worship traditions of the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion. Everyone is welcome to come and take part in this wonderful celebration of the Advent and Christmas seasons.

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Phyllis Wilson-Lovell last week. The viewing will take place at St. Cyprian’s Church, Friday, November 25, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The memorial service celebrating her life will follow the viewing at 7:00 pm.

May she rest in peace.

St. Cyprian’s Men’s Fellowship is hosting its annual St. Andrew’s Day Breakfast in support of the Fellowship’s scholarship program. This year’s speaker will be Mr. Frank Allen Pryor, Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to City Councillor Tito Jackson. The breakfast will be held in the Edrick Bain Hall, the lower level of the church at 8:15 am, Sunday, November 27, 2011. Tickets for adults are $12.00 and for children $6.00. Don’t forget–the annual St. Cyprian’s Fall Food Festival will take place Saturday, November 19, 2011 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm in the Edrick Bain Hall. Parking on site is available. Eat in or take out. See you there!

Mark your calendars! St. Cyprian’s joyous Advent concert will take place December 4, 2011 at 5:00 pm. This annual event brings us all into the Christmas spirit. St. Cyprian’s Steel Band—The Celestial Infernos and The Naarah Thornell Gospel Choir will perform seasonal selections from their considerable repertoire. Click here for more information.

The Ushers’ Guild of St. Cyprian’s is sponsoring its second annual “An Evening of Elegance” event on Sunday afternoon, October 30, 2011 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The annual St. Cyprian’s Dinner Dance sponsored by the Vestry was a success! The event held every year at Annunciation Church Hall in West Roxbury brought together many of St. Cyprian’s family and friends to enjoy the gala.
