It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dr. Bruce A. Jackson on November 17, 2016. Dr. Jackson was a longtime member of the St. Cyprian Church family. At the time of his passing he was a member of the parish vestry. During his many years at St. Cyprian’s he served in a number of its ministries from chairing the Men’s Fellowship to serving on the Rector’s Search Committee. He was born in New Haven, CT where he received his early education. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Houston, a master’s degree in Genetics from UC, Davis, another master’s degree in Molecular Biology from Brandeis University and his doctorate in Biochemistry from UMass-Lowell. He did post-doctoral work at BU’s School of Medicine. At the time of his death, he was Head of the Biotechnology Programs at Massachusetts Bay Community College. He was awarded many honors including receiving a Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics, Engineering Mentoring from President Obama at the White House in January 2011.
A memorial service will be held at St. Cyprian’s on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 10:00 AM. Please join us in celebrating the life and work of Dr. Bruce A. Jackson.
