It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing on January 25, 2012 of Greta Colleen Chandler Thomas. The viewing and visit with the family will take place at St. Cyprian’s on Saturday, February 4, 2012 beginning at 9:30 am until the beginning of the funeral service celebrating her life at 10:30 am. Interment will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery, 427 Cummings Highway, Roslindale, MA 02131

The annual Absalom Jones Celebration hosted by the Union of Black Episcopalians will be held at St. Cyprian’s on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at 4:00 pm. Please join us!

On Sunday, January 29, 2012 Bishop M. Thomas Shaw, SSJE, will celebrate the 10:30 am Eucharist. He will be meeting with the vestry before the service. After the morning Eucharist, the parish will hold its annual meeting at which vestry elections will be held and reports to the parish will be made. Bishop Shaw will be joining us for the annual meeting.

On January 16, 2012 we will once again celebrate the life, ministry and work of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This will be the forty-second breakfast hosted by St. Cyprian’s parish and Union United Methodist congregation. The event will be held at the Boston Convention Center, 414 Summer St. in Boston. The Breakfast begins at 8:00 am. This year’s keynote speaker will be Professor Walter E. Fluker, Martin Luther King, Jr. Professor of Ethical Leadership in the School of Theology, Boston University. Here is a link to more information. We hope to see you there!
