Due to the pending storm, today’s Solemn Evensong has been cancelled. 

St. Cyprian’s will host a service of Solemn Evensong on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at 4:00 pm.  The principal celebrant of the service of prayer and song will be the Rt. Rev. Dr. Carol J. Gallagher, Regional Canon for the Central Region. Please join for this time of prayer, music and reflection at the beginning of the Advent season.

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Lesley Ramsay, a long time member of St. Cyprian’s parish family. We will celebrate her life on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at St. Cyprian’s, 1073 Tremont St., Roxbury, MA 02120. There will be a viewing at 10:00 am and a service at 11:00 am. May her soul rest in God’s eternal love and peace.

The Annual Franklin Park Walk in support of the Building Fund has been moved to different date. The Walk had been scheduled for September 7, 2019 beginning at 7:00 am. Due to the expected storms coming into the area the weekend of the 7th, the event is being moved to Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Franklin Park. Please spread the word and let’s see you on the 21st!

Our Sunday service returns to its usual time of 10:30 am. September 8, 2019 marks the return to the 10:30 hour. Likewise, live transmission of the service will begin on the 8th as well. Sunday School will start again on September 22, 2019 at 10:30. All children are invited and encouraged to attend. Sunday School meets in the John Lynch Library.  Bible Study will start up again on September 13, 2019 at 6:30 pm in the John Lynch Library. The Chancel Choir recommences practice on Thursday evenings at 7:30 pm. And remember: we celebrate the feast of our patron saint–St. Cyprian–on Sunday, September 15th!

One of St. Cyprian’s favorite events it its annual dinner dance. This year’s dance — “Night of Elegance” will take place Saturday, September 14, 2019 at The Lantana, 43 Scanlon Drive, Randolph, MA  02368 from 7:00 pm to 12:00 am. Summer Schedule – 2019

With the end of June, our Sunday worship service starting time changes. Beginning July 7th, our Sunday service will begin at 9:30 am. Sunday school is in recess until September. Likewise, our live internet transmission of the Sunday morning worship service will be in recess until September. Bible study will meet on the following dates: June 28, July 12, 19, and 26 and pause during August. We hope all will have a relaxing summer season!

Holy Week

This Holy Week which began Sunday, April 14, 2019 with a service of Palms and a reading of the Passion according to St. Luke, will continue with the celebration of Maundy Thursday with and at our sister parish–St. Augustine & St. Martin,  29-33 Lenox St, with a simple meal at 6:00 pm and the Liturgy at 7:00 pm. Good Friday worship will take place at noon at St. Cyprian’s. Our Sacred Concert originally scheduled for Friday night has been cancelled. We will have one service  Sunday in celebration of Easter at 10:30 am. Please join us to celebrate our Lord’s resurrection!

Visiting Massachusetts – The Presiding Bishop, the Most Rev. Michael B. Curry

The Diocese of Massachusetts is hosting a visit by our Presiding Bishop, the Most Rev. Michael B. Curry in late April. There are several public events to which all are invited! United Lenten Devotions

During the Lenten season, St. Cyprian’s and several of our sister congregations in the Roxbury, Dorchester area will host a Wednesday evening simple meal at 6:oo pm and a service following at 7:00 pm. Here is a schedule of the services and locations. The announcement also lists themes and scriptural readings for each evening. Please do join us.

Remember also that we have a 7:00 am eucharist and homily on Wednesday mornings at St. Cyprian’s.

We will mark the beginning of the Lenten season this Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 7:00 am with a Eucharist, homily, and imposition of ashes. The service is planned to be  approximately 30 minutes long so as not to disrupt work schedules. Please join us for the beginning of the Forty Days.
