Third Sunday in Advent – December 12, 2021

December 9th, 2021 | Posted by admin in Uncategorized - (Comments Off on Third Sunday in Advent – December 12, 2021)

We mark the third Sunday in Advent on December 12, 2021. This Sunday is sometimes referred to by its ancient name “Gaudete Sunday”. Gaudete is the first word in the introit (entrance) prayer in the old Latin mass. It means rejoice. On the third Sunday we note the nearness of the Incarnation of Christ. The candle that is lit on this Sunday is rose in color rather than the penitential Advent purple. Please join us in person for our service beginning at 10:30 am. If you are coming in person, please call the church office at (617) 427-6175 to leave your name so we can reserve a place for you. If you are intending to participate online, the service will be broadcast live on our YouTube site. Here is a link to that site. The prayers and readings for this coming Sunday may be found here. Please, join us.
