On December 18, 2022 we will celebrate the fourth Sunday of Advent with the traditional Service of Nine Lessons and Carols. The service will be held at 4:00 pm. We will not have a morning service (our 10:30 Eucharist) on the 18th. Christmas: we will celebrate Christmas at 10:30 am with a service of the Eucharist. This coming Sunday is the third Sunday in the Advent season. Since the Middle Ages it has been called Gaudete Sunday. The Latin word Gaudete means ‘rejoice’. This is the Sunday when we contemplate the joy of Christ’s coming and our redemption. This Sunday we light the rose-colored candle as a symbol of that joy. The Seven Historically Black Churches of the Diocese of Boston are hosting an Advent Reflection series. The Very Rev. Sandye A. Wilson will guide a discussion of Marcus George Halley’s book Abide in Peace: Healing and Reconciliation. The sessions will be held on Zoom. November 13, 2022 is the Twenty-third Sunday after Pentecost. Please join us for our Sunday Eucharist starting at 10:30 am. We are celebrating Harvest Sunday. Please bring food items in thanksgiving for the many blessings we all receive. Donations of fruits and vegetables will be sent to our sick and shut-in members. Other items such as canned goods, onions, and potatoes will be donated to the Sherrill House.
